It has been really exciting over the last couple of months to see the readership of this blog grow. You guys are a great support and encouragement!

A lot has been going on behind the scenes at Megelaine Images during 2009. I've been working hard on photographic skills and style, sharpening the branding, and investing in new technologies, all of which have led to today.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I introduce to you my brand new website! Please check it out and leave me a comment to let me know you saw it.

Jamie + Michael : Married in Greenwood

Jamie and Michael shared their vows before God, family and friends at Valle Vista this past Saturday. Their fairytale courtship led to a fairytale wedding complete with Jamie arriving to the ceremony by carriage and they left by carriage after being pronounced man and wife. The love of family could be felt the whole day through, by the special moments between her mom and sisters getting ready to his dad's heartfelt speech at the reception. Both dads were beaming with pride the whole day. Michael might have been the most excited groom ever while he waited for Jamie's arrival. He could barely stay still. During the ceremony, it was hard to find a dry eye. I don't think my description would do the ceremony justice, but it was sweet, intimate and God focused. Emotions were high as they were pronounced man and wife and it all became real. After a few pictures just as the sun was setting, they were ready to kick off the reception. Following sweet and funny toasts, this group was ready to dance and celebrate. The dance floor was overflowing the rest of the night. The newlyweds took off to begin their honeymoon, which would take them to St. Lucia this week. It was such an honor to be part of their day. Congratulations of the beginning of an incredible journey!

Clark Family : Summers at the Lake

On my weekend of fun with Kiera to shoot Kirsten and Drew's wedding in Michigan, we split up the trip by staying Friday night with her college friends. It was fun to get a little taste of "lake life". In the morning we had a photo shoot around their lakehouse where they spend a lot of time in the summer. Their son Milo, has a cousin Maggie who is very close in age and I'm sure will some day look back at these images and remember all the fun they had together at the lake in the summers. What a great thing to have such precious time together as a family.

Kirsten + Drew : Married in Michigan

Last week this time I had the opportunity to shoot with my good friend Kiera at Kirsten and Drew's wedding up at Gun Lake in Michigan. I really enjoyed the roadtrip time with Kiera (we never turned the music on because we were so busy chatting) and loved being a second shooter for the day. It's nice to have the flexibility to try some new things that you might not normally have time for on a wedding day. The day couldn't have been prettier, maybe cooler, but not prettier. Everything was out by the lake, ceremony and reception. During the cocktail hour the wedding party took a boat trip together and made a grand entrance off the dock! It was such a pleasure to work with Kirsten and Drew and their great families.

Elijah : Little baby with big personality

I love this little guy and how much of his parents I can see in him at only 4 months old! He has the best little expressions and they just cracked me up. (check out his eyebrows!) This baby is loved so well by his parents. They are good friends of ours and it's been neat to see them transition into this new stage of life. On to his baby cuteness...

Adam : Senior at Columbus East

While I don't shoot senior pictures, the exception is made for my family. My cousin Adam, who will be graduating from Columbus East high school this year, made the trip to Indy for his senior session. He's staying busy this year managing the awesome football team, working at the DQ and keeping on top of schoolwork. He's likely heading off to Purdue next year, his parents alma mater and where his older brother Eric is currently at. Random note about Adam, he has the best microwave cooking skills I know. He will be able to wow the ladies making delicious dinners in his dorm room microwave. I've been lucky enough to sample some of his new recipes at family gatherings over the years. Enjoy being a senior Adam! (and I feel really old because I remember being at your parents wedding, and really that was my first memory of a wedding and how magical it seemed)

Welcome Carson: newborn

You might remember Kaleena and Eli from their maternity session a while ago or maybe even their wedding. Well, it was finally time for me to meet the newest edition to their family, little Carson. Oh, is he cute! It was so awesome to see them transitioning into their new role as parents. The have an amazing house in downtown Vincennes that they have put a lot of TLC in the last few years. It will be a great place for Carson to roam around in. I adored his fuzzy black baby hair!

Rudy + Kari : Anniversary Celebration

Rudy and Kari are approaching their 5 year anniversary and to celebrate they just took a week vacation together in Disney World! The night before they left they began the celebration by having me take some pictures of the two of them and how in love they still are. They have something else great to celebrate this year, their first child, a little boy! Kari was in that just starting to look cute and pregnant stage. Kari helps Rudy run his photography business when she's not teaching. Rudy has been photographing in Fort Wayne for several years. We actually met when he was in a wedding of a friend I was photographing. It was great to hang out with these two again. May they enjoy the journey of becoming parents!

Christina + Jake : Married in Fort Wayne

I met Christina in the UP of Michigan the summer after I graduated college at InterVarsity's training center Cedar Campus. Christina met Jake during a scavenger hunt with friends at IU. Jake went south for Grad School, while Christina began her math teaching career in Hammond. Finally, they are together in the same place again, now as man and wife. They had so many personal touches to their wedding. Jake's home church St. Vincent De Paul was absolutely gorgeous. After the wedding and before the dinner reception we had time for pictures at the Rose Gardens in downtown Ft. Wayne, a photographer's dream location. The reception was full of fun details, polka dots (her maiden name is Polka, seemed quite fitting), customized word games for guests, and a very unique glow in the dark entrance to mention a few. It really was a great celebration of their two lives joining together. Christina LOVES photography and is quite good herself and I know she can't wait to see a peek of the pictures. Thanks for your patience, I hope you two had a fabulous week away together!

Lauren + Shawn : Married!

What a glorious wedding day Lauren and Shawn had. It was so pleasant, full of sunshine, a sweet couple, loving friends and family. Lauren is the the youngest of three sisters so her family totally had the wedding thing under control. Every thing was thought of, everyone was taken care of. After a short engagement they got married in the stunning White Chapel on Rose Hulman's campus in Terre Haute. The ceremony was sweet, personal and gave all the glory to God. After the ceremony we enjoyed the beautiful weather while we took some pictures. The reception at Idle Creek was full of beautiful details, good food and conversation. The newlyweds took off for their honeymoon, which was a surprise to Lauren! I hope you guys are enjoying your last few days in Mexico! All our love and best wishes for a wonderful life together.

Lisa + Ryan: Engaged

Lisa and Ryan met in Terre Haute, work eventually brought them both to the Indy area. Since they are both morning people we did a morning session. The dew was just about gone and the sun was beaming through the trees. The mornings have a certain peace to them at parks. It's the quiet time before buses of day camp kids unload. Getting out of the office and out shooting was a wonderful way to start the day. I really enjoying chatting it up with these two. Best wishes for your wedding in September at Avon Gardens!
