In just a few short weeks Courtney and Justin will be man and wife after 9 years of dating! Their love bloomed young, as they have been together since Jr. High. They grew up just down the road from each other and will be making their home together not far away. For their engagement session we met in Bridgeton, IN, home of the famous Covered Bridge Festival. I personally had not traveled out that way, but was excited to shoot in a new location. The town, though very small, was the perfect place for their engagement pictures. We had a great time with lots of laughs and I am so looking forward to their big day in May!
I was back at the job site last Friday for EHM. It was quite a different day than the sunny warm Thursday. It was cold enough where your fingers just don't work the camera buttons as quick as they should. The morning started for me at a press conference at the Reid Learning Center, which also happens to be the Shell Gas station on 25th and Keystone. (Reid is my maiden name, so I felt it was really fitting that I was there shooting it) The big announcement was that free wireless access was now available to 450 homes in the area and Dell had donated 100 laptops for IPS students in the area! Amazing! What a gift of connection and communication for the neighborhood.
Back at the job site, it was really neat to see the workers transform the muddy mess around the house to a beautifully landscaped yard. The last of the 1,200 trees in the neighborhood were planted.
Saturday I got the opportunity to photograph the big "That's a Wrap" party that Estridge put on with the help of Annie-O's planning for all the vendors and companies that were involved in this incredible project. Everyone surely was tired, but still had a great time celebrated accomplishing such an ambitious task. I know several other photographers that were out at the home site at some point during the week, their blog links follow:
